Gay Bathhouse to open in Long Beach

Hotels, bars, restaurants and gay bathhouses have opened in Long Beachers town.

Long Beach’s newest gay bath house, GayBathHouse, opened in February, and now the Long Beach Board of Health is looking for a location for the next one.

“We were looking for an affordable place to open,” said Beth Pomerantz, who opened GayBathsHouse in March.

“It’s a new business, and it’s really the first of its kind.

It’s been a great success, and we’ve had a lot of interest from other businesses.”

Pomerantz said her first location in Long Island City opened in October 2016.

She said she plans to open another in the future in Long Bay.

Pomerants’ husband, Dan, is the owner of a local restaurant, The Pomerants, and Pomeranz said she wants to be a part of the restaurant community.

“My main goal is to create a place where I can share with my customers and create a social outlet for our family,” she said.

“It’s definitely a way for us to connect and share our passions and our love of food,” Pomerantes added.

The Long Beach Town Supervisor and Mayor of Long Beach, John Fudenberg, said he was excited about the announcement.

“I think it’s great for Long Beach and I’m glad that the Longbeach Board of City Planning is recognizing this as a possibility,” Fudenburg said.

“I think Long Beach is a very unique community, with a lot to offer in the gay community.

It’ll be interesting to see how it unfolds and what it looks like in the long term.”

GayBathhouse is located at 1875 New Hampshire Ave.

in LongBeach.

Pomerant said she has already spoken with the Long Beaches Board of Water, Parks and Tourism about the location.
