Miami-Dade County Public Health officials have issued an advisory to residents to avoid the hot tub, spa, bathhouse and other water activities at the Miami-dade County Fairgrounds and the Hilton Garden Inn.
According to the advisory, the areas will be closed due to “serious health concerns”.
“Residents should limit their exposure to the following activities: swimming, jogging, swimming pool activities, hot tubs, pool games, water slides, water sports and other outdoor activities,” the advisory states.
“These activities may cause serious health concerns.”
“The county is actively working to determine what additional health concerns may be related to these activities and how to minimize the risk of harm to the health of our residents,” the agency added.
Public health officials advised people to avoid all activities at all times.
“It is strongly recommended that all outdoor water sports activities, swimming, hot baths and other swimming activities be avoided at all time,” the warning states.
A number of water park chains have been reported to have closed this week due to the hot water outbreak, including Disney, AMC Theaters, and Star Wars World.
